Concept and Aim of NSS: The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a
Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs &
Sports. The scheme was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year in
1969. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community
service. In this concern DGC have two units with two programme officers
for each unit of NSS volunteers, one for girls and one for boys having 100
students each. NSS plays a vital role in the academic expansion of volunteers.
The spirit of selfless service is inculcated among the student and NSS
Programme Officers through sustained community interactions.

personality development of the students through community services.
