Mentorship Program for Graduates and Post-Graduates.
Posted on 29/03/2026
Mentorship in physics is crucial for bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical research, acting as a “lifeline” for early-career researchers, particularly in fields like space physics. It involves not just passing on technical skills, but fostering a mindset that allows mentees to tackle problems no one knows the answer to.
This chapter describes critical practices in physics teacher mentoring and how these practices are systematically supported in the teacher education program. While not all teacher education programs should look like Trinity’s, the mentorship practices and support systems we describe hold promise for fostering outstanding physics teacher mentorship in a wide range of teacher education contexts.
