Lecture on Soft Skills and female scooty riders by Women's Cell at Dronacharya Government College
On March 14, 2024, the Women's Cell at Dronacharya Government College organized transformative lectures to celebrate the spirit of womenhood titled “8 march International women's day “under the patronage of Principal Shri Ghanshyam Das on empowering women through impact-based startups and soft skills aimed at empowering students to excel in both their academic and professional pursuits. First talk was on female scooty riders by FERY RIDES foundation which is aimed to inspire and equip female students with the knowledge and resources necessary to explore entrepreneurship as a means of earning a living while making a positive difference in their communities. Ajay Kumar, Founder and CEO and Vindhya Mehrotra , Co-founder and CMO of Fery Rides explained the students that fery rides is India’s most trusted and safe and zero anxiety mobility solution for women featuring an all electric fleet of 2 wheelers driven by women riders. The session began with an introduction to impact entrepreneurship, emphasizing its dual focus on financial sustainability and social or environmental impact.The speaker discussed the unique challenges and opportunities faced by women in entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of resilience, creativity, and community support.
The second session was based on soft skills for women whose prominent speaker was Priyanka Wadhera (Chartered Accountant),
Founder in Legal Suvidha and Corpready Academy.The event served as a platform for students to gain valuable insights into essential soft skills and their significance in personal and career development.
The lecture commenced with an overview of soft skills, emphasizing their critical role in fostering effective communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.The speaker elucidated the relevance of soft skills in the professional sphere, highlighting their influence on job performance, career advancement, and workplace satisfaction and Various soft skills such as communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, time management, and leadership were explored in depth, accompanied by real-life examples and practical tips for improvement.
The session encouraged active participation through interactive discussions and Q&A sessions, allowing students to share their experiences, challenges, and insights related to soft skills development.
The lecture heightened students' awareness of the significance of soft skills and their impact on academic performance, career opportunities, and overall well-being. This session was highly appreciated. In this, Dr. Renu (Women Cell Convener), Dr. Tarunlata, Dr. Meenkashi Pandey, Dr. Vinita Sharma,Dr.Garima, Dr. Jyoti, Dr. Varsha, Ms Anu Yadav, Dr. Pooja Yadav , Dr. Poonam Sharma,Ms.Deepak Yadav ,Dr.Laxmi Kataria and other faculty members of the college and many students of BBA, B.Sc B.Com and M.Com -Girls were present.
In which about 100 to 150 girl students of the college participated.
