Women Cell of Dronacharya Government College, Gurugram organized a One Day Programme in two session on Women’s problem like PCOD, PCOS under the patronage of Principal Shri Ghanshyam Das.

Women Cell organised a talk on demystifying PCOD/PCOS/Menopause and Leukorrhea for girls students and women staff. Yesterday, the Women Cell of Dronacharya Government organised a One Day programme in two session on Women’s problem like PCOD, PCOS under the patronage of Principal Shri Ghanshyam Das. The first session was organised for all girls students and second was for women staff. The prominent speaker for this session was Dr. Upasana Dahiya, Gynaecologist and Psychologist ,Civil hospital,Gurugram. Dr.Upasana gave the college girls such important tips about PCOD,PCOS ,Menopause that Women’s health is about the prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders that are unique to women. PCOS/PCOD is an endocrine gynaecology disorder affecting many women of childbearing age. Dr. Upasana told the girls the reason behind this type of disease like epigenetic, environmental toxicants, stress, diet as external factors, insulin resistance, hyperandrogegism, inflammation, oxidative stress, and obesity as internal factors were investigated. Having the disorder may significantly impact the quality of life of women during the reproductive years, and it contributes to morbidity and mortality by the time of menopause. Dr.Upasana also gave tips to students and women staff for managing PCOD ,PCOS and Menopause by taking a diet full of non starchy vegetables,whole grain ,leans meats and healthy fats ,by getting quality sleep,by medication and hormonal therapy. Celebrating girls and their health, Women Cell often plans programs for the girl students in the college and they are always a part of it. The session was an interactive session as students asked many questions to get more clarity on this topic. This session was highly appreciated. In this, Dr. Renu (Women Cell Convener), Dr. Tarunlata, Dr. Meenkashi Pandey, Dr. Vinita Sharma,Dr.Garima, Dr. Jyoti, Dr. Varsha, Ms Anu Yadav, Dr. Pooja Yadav , Dr. Poonam Sharma,Ms.Deepak Yadav ,Dr.Laxmi Kataria and other faculty members of the college and many students of BBA, B.Com and M.Com -Girls were present. In which about 100 to 150 girl students of the college participated.
